I'm now getting into Home theatre...I have the electronics (NAD Receiver and a JVC DVD)...
My front/main speakers are rebuild Altec Model 15's which I bought new in 1978. I rebuild the cabinets to make them more pleasing to the wife...
My rear speakers are Rebuilt Altec Model 7's. Actually I'm just finishing them up now.
Anyone have any suggestions for a good Center Channel speaker....My speakers are decently efficient (95db). So I'd like something in that range. The caviat is that they can't be to big and they have to be able to sit on top of the TV (so they must be shielded). I'm willing to build my own or by something new.....The only speakers I've found that come close to efficiency to these new are the Klipsch....But not sure how they will sound with my Altec's.
Also if you suggest that I build new, how do you shield them????

How about (4) 405 or (4) 409 series loudspeakers in a nicely slanted enclosure.
Should work well in the right enclosure, and be all Altec as well.
